ECLIPSE

Eclipses have always been markers of change and evolution, dating to ancient times and civilizations. In the days before humanity became en’light’ened, the solar eclipse represented a time of fear and darkness. An eclipse seems to stop time, stop energy, and stop movement. Where once there was light filtering through the elemental forces of the zodiac into the Earth’s aura, there is suddenly darkness, nothingness, a temporary lack of input from the Sun or Moon that serves to bring our awareness closer to the energy of the Solar or Lunar season, and thus intensify it.

In Eclipse I strived to deepen the richness of black and at the same time concentrate on finding the right silhouette. The result is a monumental collection in which the structure of fabrics like silk satin, light wool, leather and cashmere and its absorption and reflection of the incoming light are central points. Movement plays another important role because it is by movement that the collection comes alive.  The balanced use of colour, techniques and materials gives Eclipse its energy and strength.
